God forgave you. Why can't you? A prayer to stop carrying what's already paid for.

Lord, I come before You with a heart burdened by my own inability to forgive myself. You know my heart, and You see the ways I cling to my past mistakes, even when You have already washed them away. You tell us in Your Word that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Yet, Lord, I struggle to lay my guilt at Your feet. Help me, Father, to accept the grace You so freely offer.

I know that holding onto this guilt is like questioning the power of Your sacrifice. I want to believe that Your mercy is enough, that Your love covers even the darkest parts of me. Help me to release this burden, to stop punishing myself for what You have already forgiven. I long to walk in the freedom You promise, to embrace the new life You have given me.

Lord, teach me to see myself through Your eyes, to understand that I am a new creation in Christ. Help me to let go of the chains I’ve placed upon myself, to trust in Your perfect plan for my life.

Thank You for Your unwavering love and for the forgiveness You offer, which I so desperately need. Guide me to forgive myself as You have forgiven me. Amen.
