Letting Go of Anger

Forgiveness

The rage feels justified. But it's eating you alive. A prayer to release it.

God, I come to You with a heart heavy and burdened by anger. This rage, it feels so justified, yet I know it consumes me from within, slowly eating away at my peace. I confess, Lord, that holding on to this anger has given me a sense of control, but it is a false freedom that binds me tighter each day. You remind me in Ephesians 4:31 to put away bitterness, wrath, and anger, and I long to do this, though it feels impossible on my own.

Help me, Father, to release this grip. I am tired of carrying this burden, and I lay it at Your feet. Show me how to forgive those who have wronged me, even when my heart resists. Transform my heart with Your love, so that I may see others as You see them, flawed but beloved. I ask for Your strength to choose forgiveness daily, even when it feels like the hardest thing to do.

Fill me with Your peace, Lord, the peace that surpasses all understanding, and replace my anger with Your compassion and grace. I trust that in surrendering this to You, I will find the freedom my soul desperately seeks. Thank You for Your patience and for guiding me towards healing. Amen.
